Walter GB's reconditioning service saves 50% on costs

  • Walter GB's reconditioning service saves 50% on costs
Walter GB's reconditioning service boasts it can cut tooling costs by up to 50 per cent compared with buying new, and Walter GB reconditions tools using the same geometries and coatings applied in their manufacture.

Walter Titex and Walter Prototyp milling cutters and drills, reconditioned to their original status cost 33% of the price of a new tool. Hence buying a tool and regrinding it three times can save 50% of the cost of purchasing the original tool and replacing it three times.

In the case of older tools, utilising modern recoating technologies can add even more benefits than before.

Based on courier pick up and delivery and short turnaround times, the service is supported by Walter's extensive know-how concerning wear patterns and wear limits; for example, the expertise required to identify flank face wear, plastic deformation, built-up edge formation or crater wear on rake faces is freely available to enable users to pinpoint the appropriate action required to achieve uncompromised machining performance with the reconditioned tools.
