Tube bender acquires wire bender

Tube processing specialist BLM Group UK's parent BLM SPA of Cantù, Italy, has purchased fellow Italian company Officina Meccanica Montorfano Sas.

Tube processing specialist BLM Group UK’s parent BLM SPA of Cantù, Italy, has purchased fellow Italian company Officina Meccanica Montorfano Sas.

Montorfano manufactures machines for the bending of wire, small diameter bar and tube, strip/profiles, and armoured heating elements. BLM is a tube bending and laser tube cutting specialist.

For more than 40 years, Montorfano has specialised in the manufacture of multi-head machines for wire bending. Its first patent for this type of machine was granted in 1965, while 1979 saw the the company’s first 3-axis CNC machine.

Today Montorfano offers a range of 18 standard machines capable of bending wire and bar from 1 mm to 33 mm diameter. These machines are widely used in the automotive and construction industries, and in the production of household appliances, indoor and outdoor furnishings, bathroom accessories, and equipment for shops and stores.
