Tornos wins Open House orders; reports increasingly competitive UK market position

  • Tornos CNC sliding-head Open House orders
CNC sliding-head and CNC multispindle specialist Tornos UK reports sales of its new Delta 38/5 and Sigma 32 to existing Tornos users and several Delta 20's and Gamma 20/6B machines to new Tornos customers, following its recent Open House.

The Open House order haul adds to the two machines that were sold in the three weeks between the EMO event and the event to customers that attended EMO, but who could not attend the Open House.

The event was centred round themes that included the reduction of bar waste, the dual running capabilities of the Delta and Gamma machines as sliding-head or guide bushless systems, and the one-hit machining philosophy.

"We were very pleased with the turnout and the visitors were excited by the new innovations that are putting Tornos in an increasingly competitive position in the marketplace," sais UK accounts manager John Stretton. "What is more encouraging is that we are winning customers that have historically been customers of our competitors. This is a great reflection of the capabilities and benefits of the new range of machines and their excellent cost-to-performance qualities. The success is also a result of our investment in new staff to provide impeccable levels of service and support."

The Coalville-based firm saw over 100 visitors from almost 70 companies attend the event.

Tornos also held a prize draw at the show, with Kevan Kane from Technoset winning a two-night break , while MCS director Warren Gray won an iPad2 that was sponsored by co-exhibitor Lease UK.
