The world's first magnetic energy chain

  • The world's first magnetic energy chain
Igus is claiming a world first with its magnetic energy chain - LeviChain.

Because the chain 'floats', courtesy of a magnetic field, there is virtually no wear and no unreeling or gliding noise.

The system is rated at 41.7 dB(A) at a distance of 1 m, so it almost silent and is also cleanroom compatible, having an ISO cleanliness Class 4 (at v=0.6 m/s).

It can support very high rates of acceleration and can be applied to unsupported lengths of up to 40 m.
