Grinding specialist Tacchella is latest member of Italian machine tool alliance
Italian grinding machine maker Tacchella has joined gear cutting machine maker De.Ci.Ma and grinding machine maker Morara as part of an Italian machine tool alliance.
De.Ci.Ma is itself the combination of the previously separate Italian gear cutting machine making companies of DEMM and CIMA. In the UK, Tacchella is represented by NL Machine Tool Consulting (01908 675434).
The move was announced on Thursday, 4 March, at the headquarters of Italian machine tool and production equipment makers' organisation UCIMU-Sistemi Per Produrre.
The four companies have been brought together under the auspices of Paritel Finanziaria, Bologna, within its holding company, IMT-Italian Machine Tools. Tacchella is the latest acquisition, it joining the other three, which had been brought together previously.
Paritel has been managing re-launch plans of industrial companies on a long/medium-term basis for over 20 years, it is offered. Its interventions have been concentrated in three sectors, one of which is machine tools.
IMT's aims are: to have a single business centre for all staff functions; a divisional organisation based in several flexible production plants able to deliver customised products; the integration of sales networks and greater cross selling; increased profitability through industrial synergy.
"The IMT-Italian Machine Tools project is the realisation of an industrial plan in support of development and profitability, allowing business consolidation and the defence of trademarks to create strong points of advantage over competitors and to appeal to financial partners," Mr Luca Peli, chairman of IMT, explained.
"It's a reply to recession, a positive decision, cast into the future, to join resources and win the global challenge, with the intent to defend the trademarks and the companies owning technological excellence. IMT is the first step of an alliance strategy, we are already planning others," Mr Peli concluded.
Alberto Tacchella, vice-chairman IMT and immediate past chairman UCIMU-Sistemi Per Produrre, said: "I was, and I'm now more than ever convinced that alliances are the right way to defend and enhance the excellence of our companies. "
