SolidCAM UK has become a Tier 2 member of the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (Nuclear AMRC), allowing SolidCAM UK to become a supplier of choice to the global civil nuclear industry.

Jay Shaw, deputy machining group manager at the Nuclear AMRC said: "We see Solidcam as being one of our key manufacturing partners. They are ideally suited to support Nuclear AMRC and our manufacturing partners, with their novel and advanced machining modules such as iMachining. We hope this to be a long and lasting and growing partnership."

Gordon Drysdale, managing director of SolidCAM UK said: "We want the UK to be world leaders in manufacturing capabilities, including those within the nuclear industry, and we will remain supportive of the Nuclear AMRC for the foreseeable future to ensure this."

SolidCAM UK, based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, provides its manufacturing customers with a full suite of CAM modules, including installations, standard and custom post-processors, training, and full support using state-of-the-art technology.

SolidCAM's iMachining technology allows up to 70% reduction in CNC machining time and also dramatically extend tool life over traditional machining, giving members the technical capability to compete on cost, quality and time to delivery, while meeting the needs of the new generation of nuclear power stations. Led by The University of Sheffield, The University of Manchester and a group of industrial partners, the Nuclear AMRC combines university innovation and industry expertise to help British manufacturing companies compete for nuclear contracts worldwide.
