As of 1 July 2018, Lee Moakes heads the new Trumpf UK senior team as managing director, while Gerry Jones becomes sales director and Juergen Herr becomes the new finance director.

The news comes in parallel with the announcement that Annette Doyle has vacated the post of managing director to continue her career with Trumpf US in Farmington. Doyle has held the position for three year.

Moakes has been the company’s technical director since 2014 and has overseen the implementation of several customer-focused initiatives that have ensured after-sales support is equal in quality to the design and build of Trumpf products. He joined Trumpf in 2000 as a laser service engineer and has steadily climbed the management ladder, progressing through project management to become general manager for after-sales with Trumpf India, before returning to a senior management role in the UK four years ago.

He says: “From a personal perspective, my story shows that there is opportunity for progression for all employees working within Trumpf, whether this be locally or internationally. I have been given so much encouragement along the way and will soon be completing my master’s degree in finance to complement my engineering skills.”

Jones’ career with Trumpf UK started in 1994 in laser sales and he too has risen through the ranks to manage the national sales team for both lasers and systems. Says Jones: “The continual development of our products and technologies brings new opportunities to our customers, allowing us to grow together. There is no sign of this slowing down. In fact, with more exciting developments to come, there is plenty to look forward to.”

Juergen Herr is a time-served Trumpf employee with 18 years of service.
