Schunk to exhibit at Robotics and Automation 2018

Schunk Intec will be exhibiting at the upcoming Robotics and Automation 2018 show at Arena MK in Milton Keynes on 10-11 October. Prominent at the show (on Stand 510), will be the Co-act (collaborative actuator), which is part of the Schunk gripping technology programme for safe human-robot collaboration.

The Schunk Co-act JL1 gripper, said to be the world's first intelligent gripping module for human-robot collaboration, can conduct adjustments to gripping processes in real time using diverse sensor systems. Various ‘senses’ are used to record, evaluate and communicate situational, ambient and operational conditions.

Alongside the Co-act system will be the complementary PGN-plus series of gripper technologies. Schunk has recently extended this range with the arrival of the PGN-plus-E, which incorporates an IO-link.

Said to be the world's first lifelong maintenance-free 24 V premium electric gripper, the PGN-plus-E meets the IO-link class B standard. Only one connection plug is required to control the gripper, set parameters and use the integrated diagnostics function. The gripper can be directly connected to the IO-link class B master without a Y distributor, while gripping force can be individually adjusted to the workpiece via the IO-link.

As well as the Co-Act intelligent gripping module and PGN-plus, Schunk will demonstrate a complete range of robotics and automation ancillary products.
