Sany Group order 3,000 ton press brake from LVD-HD

LVD-HD, has been awarded a contract from Sany Group Co., Changsha, China, to manufacture a custom 3,000 ton press brake, for the production of mobile crane equipment.

LVD-HD is the newly established joint venture company of LVD Company n.v. and Hubei Tri-Ring Metalforming Equipment Co., (HD), Hubei Province, China. LVD will perform engineering and design work and provide critical components for the custom machine. HD will manufacture the frame and handle assembly.

Installation of the machine is planned for November 2010.

Sany Group, manufactures more than 120 types of construction machinery, road construction machinery, and hoisting machinery. The company is one of the largest manufacturing firms in China, producing pump trucks and mobile crane units. Sany already has 96 HD machines installed in production facilities located throughout China

LVD is one of a few press brake manufacturers specialising in custom press brake design and construction, and has installed custom stand-alone and tandem press brakes for public lighting, shipbuilding, offshore drilling and heavy machinery industries.

HD specialises in manufacturing CNC precision equipment. Its primary production facility is well-equipped to manufacture highly specialised large press brakes up to 10,000 ton and 12.5 m in capacity.

"Securing such a significant order for our newly-established joint venture from such a major manufacturer as Sany Group is a testament to LVD and HD's combined experience in designing and building high-tech custom press brakes," said LVD marketing and sales director, Patrick Deferme.

The PPEB-H 3,000 ton, 14 m press brake will be one of the most technologically advanced machine of its kind, incorporating unique productivity-enhancing features developed by LVD.

The PPEB-H press brake will be equipped with a CNC adjustable Vari-VEE die, with Smart Crown feature, and LVD's patented Easy-Form Laser adaptive bending system. LVD's Vari-VEE die provides automatic adjustment of the V-width to reduce setup time and provide flexibility to form long parts, different material thicknesses and high strength materials. The Easy-Form Laser system provides exact measurement of the angle during bending.
