Haas Automation sales top 500 in last 12 months

  • Sales of 500 Haas machine tools in 12 months
Haas sales in the UK for the last 12 months have exceeded 500 machines. ''Haas is selling record numbers of CNC machine tools worldwide and the results in the UK reflect this," said Haas managing director Nick Remington.

This year has seen sales return back to pre-recession levels for Haas. The company recruited three additional support staff in the third quarter of 2011, taking the number of service engineers to 30.

"We are busily recruiting further staff to ensure we can maintain the high level of service for which we are renowned," Mr Remington added. "Haas didn't make a single redundancy during the recession and seized the opportunity to continue investment in our support network. We took the view that if we invest in our business and, therefore, our customers, this will pay dividends as we come out of recession.

"The term 'first time fix rate' has become synonymous with Haas. It is how we measure our success at getting a machine running at peak performance on the first visit. Currently we are achieving 94.7% - an impressive figure that is constantly improving. We believe we are the only UK machine tool company that measures their service department in this way.

"Having made no redundancies during a torrid recession, we are now reaping the benefits as our customers ramp up production and therefore need additional machinery."
