Rotech broadens business services offering with Zwick investment

Metallurgical test laboratory Rotech Laboratories, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rubery Owen Holdings, has invested in a range of Zwick universal testing machines to complement its strategic business growth plans.

The Laboratory expansion through the acquisition of Zwick testing equipment will enable the company to offer services to new industrial sectors, including aerospace and composites and capture a bigger market share in their existing markets. The equipment will enable Rotech to offer a testing service capable of accommodating the requirements specified in the latest ASTM & EN international material testing standards, and will assist in gaining Nadcap approval, a pre-requisite when working with aerospace clients. "We were only prepared to consider a world-class testing machine manufacturer with the ability to provide a comprehensive range of load frames and specimen gripping solutions coupled to the availability of an automated extensometer," said Richard Smith, managing director of Rotech Laboratories. "I was particularly impressed by the very professional way in which Zwick handled this project and provided Rotech with unbiased technical support in order to help us identify the optimum testing solution to satisfy our demanding requirements."
