Roemheld partners with the ManufacturingTechnology Centre
Workholding technology specialist Roemheld has become a partner in the UK's largest manufacturing research and development centre, the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC).
Based in Coventry, The MTC specialises in the development of high value manufacturing sector processes: net shape manufacturing; intelligent automation; advanced tooling and fixturing; electronics manufacturing; computerised engineering and high integrity fabrication.
"Roemheld has always been committed to supplying innovative workholding solutions and we are very excited to be part of this new approach to developing manufacturing excellence, which should help the UK raise its competitive advantage on the world stage," explains Bill Neal, managing director of Roemheld (UK).
The MTC was created to bring together the country's leading academics, engineers and industry professionals to develop advanced manufacturing technologies. It represents one of the largest public sector investments in UK manufacturing and is working to bridge the gap between innovative university-based research and its development into credible manufacturing solutions.
Set up with £40.55 million provided by Advantage West Midlands and the East Midlands Development Agency, there are four initial research partners: University of Birmingham; the University of Nottingham; Loughborough University; and TWI Limited.
The three founding industry members are: Rolls-Royce; Airbus UK; and Aero Engine Controls.
