Hexagon Metrology Romer arm celebrates 25th birthday

  • Portable measuring arms Romer Hexagon Metrology
Hexagon Metrology's manufacturing facility for Romer-branded portable measuring arms in Montoire, France, celebrated its 25th birthday in October.

Romer is the originator of the portable measuring arm, which it first offered in 1986 at its Montoire, site. Since 1986, Romer products have become increasingly versatile and powerful measurement systems.

Romer became a part of Hexagon Metrology in 2004, but many of its original arms continue in daily service. For example, the Romer System 6 arms with the serial numbers 4 and 5 built in 1986 celebrated their own 25th application anniversary at automotive companies in France.

In the European aerospace industry, the first Romer tube inspection systems have been used daily since they were brought into service in 1986.
