Lantek, Kaltenbach and Remmert deliver innovative production solution for German company
Spain headquartered CADCAM software specialist Lantek, sawing and structural steel working machine tool maker Kaltenbach (Germany) and warehouse automation firm Remmert (Germany) have worked together to deliver a production solution for engineering company Goldbeck, also of Germany.
The three production technology companies have developed a plasma cutting machine and robot to speed up the component extraction processes for the customer, which is focused on the design, construction and maintenance of office buildings, halls and car parks. It is a cutting-edge innovation, as it is the first automatic evacuation system with a robotic arm for heavy parts.
Lantek provided the technology to generate the machine cutting data and the evacuation and palletising positions that the robot must execute in a simple and visual way; Remmert has been responsible for making sure that the palletising information reaching it is correctly executed by the robot; and Kaltenbach coordinated all the processes, so that the machine executes the right movements at the right time.
The solution delivers substantially increased productivity, because while the robot quickly moves the part to the pallet assigned to it by Lantek's software, the Kaltenbach machine can continue with its cutting activity without interruption, significantly increasing the speed of evacuation of parts. In addition, the operator does not have to handle heavy parts, with the result that accidents are avoided and safety is increased.
Lantek and Remmert are to extend this collaboration to other scenarios.
