US-based tooling, workholding, and presetting specialist Parlec has acquired Troughton & Simms Manufacturing, Bristol.

Troughton & Simms Manufacturing was located in Bristol adjacent to Parlec’s European facilities and manufactured a range of driven and static tooling products and components for Parlec Europe. Parlec, Fairport, New York, US acquired Bristol Tool Group, Bristol in 2004. Bristol Tool Group comprised Bristol Tool & Gauge Engineering, Bristol and Bristol Tool Group of North Vernon, Indiana, US. The American company’s six major product lines comprise more than 8,000 individual products, most manufactured at Fairport. It has 750 distributors throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. The latest acquisition “will give Parlec Europe full control of manufacturing capacities and capabilities,” said Michael Nuccitelli, president and CEO of Parlec. “In addition, investments will be made to upgrade the facility in order to continue to offer our customers best in class product and customer service”. Parlec’s additions to it’s manufacturing capability will be located in the same facilities as the sales, service and engineering operations and will be rolled under the Parlec Europe umbrella currently managed by Robert H. Miller, general manager, Europe. Parlec has also engaged five new employees in order to strengthen the manufacturing and engineering capabilities and customer support services.
