NT1000 mill-turn centre wins prize for Mori Seiki

  • mill turn centres high precision machining Mori Seiki
Mori Seiki's NT1000 integrated mill-turn centre received one of the 2009 Best 10 New Products Awards sponsored by Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun.

Demand for high-precision machining of complex-shaped workpieces has been growing in the field of small precision parts manufacturing, such as medical equipment, watches and measuring instruments, prompting Mori Seiki developing the NT1000 integrated mill-turn centre.

The mill-turn centre features a workpiece discharge unit that is capable of transferring a workpiece, and achieves complete machining from bar or slug stock to finished parts.

Additionally, the NT1000 mill-turn centre employs Mori Seiki's original DDM (Direct Drive Motor), BMT (Built-in Motor Turret) and ORC (Octagonal Ram Construction) technologies, and is equipped with the MAPPS IV high-performance operating system. With a compact design, the NT1000 mill-turn centre can improve productivity per unit area.

The prize for the mill-turn centre makes it four-in-a-row for Mori Seiki, following the success of the Dura Series in 2006, the NZ Series in 2007 and the NT6600 DCG in 2008.
