New standard Guhring drill for ADI and CGI material

  • New standard Guhring drill for ADI and CGI material
Guhring has developed a new, in-stock, available-as-standard Ratio drill type RT100 R for drilling CGI (compacted graphite iron) and ADI (austempered ductile iron) materials.

The unique carbide high-performance drill outlasts most conventional designs in extremely abrasive wear applications thanks to patented radius point geometry, says the company.

The series 6501 is a FIREX coated 5xD coolant-fed design and the series 6502 is a FIREX coated 7xD coolant-fed offering. Specials can also be supplied.

CGI and ADI material offer high tensile strength making it possible to increase the output of engines while keeping the wall thickness of the engine block the same. They can also reduce the weight of the engine with thinner wall thickness without sacrificing output.
