New president announced for MTA

  • New president announced for MTA
The Manufacturing Technologies Association formally elected Bob Hunt as its new president at the Association's AGM on Thursday, 16 October.

Mr Hunt is managing director of sliding-head lathe specialist and bar feed supplier Star Micronics GB, Melbourne, Derbyshire.

He takes over from Geoff Lloyd, managing director of Heller Machine Tools, who for the last two years has led the Association, raising the MTA's profile with politicians and the media and improving the range and delivery of member services on offer.

The new president said he is looking forward to the challenge, especially during these unpredictable economic times. He also assured members that he will continue the work that Mr Lloyd has already started, namely boosting the MTA's membership, brand and political presence, and of course working towards another successful MACH in 2010.
