Mori Seiki UK will be exhibiting at the 2006 Farnborough International Airshow (17 to 23 July 2006), launching its new NM Series 5-axis vertical machining centre range.

The new machine will be of particular relevance to the aerospace sector. Mori Seiki UK says that some 60 per cent of its customer base is in the aerospace industry, and the company is adding further value to the services it offers by collaborating with the AMRC in Sheffield to develop cutting strategies and technology specifically for aerospace components. “We are positioning ourselves as the global number one supplier for machine tools by offering the optimum in quality, cost, and delivery to become the natural first choice for machine tool buyers,” said Dr Masahiko Mori, president of Mori Seiki. Mori Seiki UK will shortly be opening its new Technical Centre in Birmingham, adding to the 12 Technical Centres and the 650 people already providing service and support to Mori Seiki users throughout Europe. Note: Mori Seiki UK is the new trading name for Mori Seiki in the UK, replacing MS Pollard.
