Mills CNC has strengthened its sales operation in the West Midlands and surrounding counties with additional representation via a new position of regional sales engineer, appointing Mark Hone to the role.

This new position has been created to cope with the increasing demand from component manufacturers in the area for the Doosan machine tools supplied by Mills CNC, and to generate new sales leads and enquiries.

Hone joins Mills CNC’s’ well-established sales infrastructure and proactive sales management team in the area, headed up by business manager Peter Smith, who says: “The West Midlands and surrounding area has a high concentration of component manufacturers - ranging from large OEMs and Tier 1 companies through to smaller precision subcontractors.

“Mills CNC already has a sizeable customer base in the area but, judging by the high demand, it could be significantly larger. “The appointment of Mark will help us grow sales organically and through acquiring new business.”

This new appointment will free up time for Smith, enabling him to develop and grow business with key accounts and to focus more time on more complex and in-depth machine tool sales.

Hone, aged 37, is a sales professional and has significant experience in selling CNC machine tools, consumables and ancillary equipment, and in developing strong customer relationships. He says: “When the opportunity arose to join Mills CNC, I jumped at it.

“Mills CNC has a reputation in the industry for the technically-excellent machine tools it sells and supports, its first-class applications and logistics operations and its world-class after-sales services.

“The whole ethos and business approach at Mills is geared around delivering ‘right-first-time’ manufacturing solutions and on creating mutually-beneficial relationships with customers.

“I am looking forward to joining a successful team and contributing to what is, undoubtedly, the fastest-growing and one of the most successful machine tool companies in the UK.”
