Mills CNC has appointed a seasoned sales manager with significant production engineering and automation systems experience to head up its collaborative robot (cobot) business. Peter McCullough has been named as product manager - Doosan Robotics, a newly created position within Mills CNC’s Automation Division.

Says Kevin Gilbert, managing director at Mills CNC: “At the beginning of the year we became the UK agent for Doosan Robotics, part of the Doosan Group of companies. To head up our cobot business and exploit new opportunities now and in the future, we decided that we needed an experienced sales professional with entrepreneurial skills and a proven track record in automation systems. We needed someone with a specific skill set and, in Peter, we’re confident we have found that person.”

McCullough joins Mills CNC having worked as sales manager for the past two years at InterVision Global Ltd, a company that designs, specifies, installs and supports inline inspection systems for manufacturers in the food and beverage, consumer products, medical device, pharmaceutical, defence, and automation industries. Previous work experience also includes a number of production engineering positions at Allied Signal, Siemens Measurements, Schlumberger and Thorn EMI, as well as senior sales, marketing and business development management positions at Technifor and the Gravotech Group.

Says McCullough on his appointment: “I am delighted to be joining Mills CNC, and looking forward to raising the company’s profile in the cobot market and increasing its market share. Mills CNC’s reputation and position in the machine tool sector is second to none; my ambition is to achieve something similar in the cobot market. Over the coming days and weeks I will be meeting existing customers and will be showcasing our product range to visitors attending Automechanika 2019 at the NEC, Birmingham [4-6 June], and Mills CNC’s open house in Leamington [9-10 October].”
