Matsuura, Tornos, Fanuc Robotics and Mitutoyo to stage event in Leicestershire

Matsuura, Tornos, Fanuc Robotics and Mitutoyo are to hold a joint technology event at the Matsuura and Tornos technology centres in Leicestershire, on 16, 17 and 18 of October.

Industry leading turning and machining centres will be integrated with robotic and metrology concepts, highlighting seamless manufacturing technology integration and associated cost savings.

Matsuura will be highlighting the capabilities of 14 machine tools at its facility with another six machines in the Tornos showroom. The key focus for Matsuura will be the single table 5-axis MX-520 machine tool, primarily aimed at companies making the transition from 3 to 5-axis operations.

The company's latest 5-axis machine and the largest machine tool Matsuura manufactures to date in terms of capacity and size with X, Y and Z axis in the 1 m range, the MAM72-100H, will also be on hand.

The H.Plus-630 – one of the most installed Matsuura products in the UK – is also expected to be of interest. This horizontal machining centre for large and complex components is available with a large number of options, including auto pallet changers and FMS systems that underline the theme of the event – integration, automation, and unmanned running.

Tornos will be demonstrating its award-winning MultiSwiss multi-spindle machine, the new 12-axis EvoDeco 16 sliding-head lathe, its dual capability Gamma 20/6b sliding-head lathe, and the Delta 20/5 sliding-head, together with the 38 mm bar diameter sliding head 38/5, as well as the new Almac CU2007 machining centre.

Two machines shown for the first time in the UK will be the 12-axis EvoDeco 16, with four completely independent tooling systems and demonstrating the production of medical parts, and the the new 3 to 5-axis Tornos Almac CU2007 compact machining centre.

Also in attendance will be tooling, workholding, CADCAM software, probing and swarf management companies - Iscar, Sandvik Coromant, ITC, Floyd Automatic Tooling, Jemtech, PSL Datatrack, Mecwash, Delcam and Lease UK.
Breakfast and lunch are to be served each day. For further details or to book one of the limited places available for the event, visit www.matsuura.co.uk or www.tornos.com .
