MACH 2010 - Siemens to launch CNC control optimised for job shop market

  • MACH 2010 - Siemens to launch CNC control optimised for job shop market
Siemens Industry Automation & Drive Technologies (IA&DT) will launch the SINUMERIK 828D CNC, which is its first control designed and optimised specifically for the mid-range/job shop market, on stand 5569, at MACH 2010.

SINUMERIK 828D CNC features as standard the Siemens, award-winning ShopMill and ShopTurn interactive graphic assist programming operator interface. The CNC offers higher performance across operations, with a video-like interface allowing job shop managers to increase production efficiencies and take greater control of their shopfloors.

Tony Bennison from Siemens IA&DT said: "The new SINUMERIK 828D CNC provides job shop owners and managers with distinct business advantages, including ISO code programming, shopfloor communications, interactive animated elements, automatic measuring cycles and production-status text messaging. We're looking forward to launching it at MACH 2010 as we believe it offers a host of measurable benefits for job shops."

On the Siemens stand, the CNC will be shown on machines built and supplied by XYZ Machine Tools; it will also be seen elsewhere at MACH 2010, on the Dugard and Hardinge stands.

In addition to the launch of SINUMERIK 828D CNC, Siemens will be demonstrating its 5-axis technology with the SINUMERIK 840D solution line on a DMG DMU50evo linear machine, as well as the advanced functionality of its NX software.

The stand will also feature a Red Bull Racing Formula One car.
