KPMG Business Excellence Award for Bott

Metal furniture and storage equipment specialist Bott has picked up a KPMG-sponsored Business Excellence Award sponsored.

The KPMG award recognised the company’s excellence achieved in all operational areas and the contribution it is making to the Devon, Cornwall and National economies. Foremost in the consideration of the judging panel was the strength and commitment of the entire Bott team, and the exceptional performance achieved in the past few years. The Company majors in the production of metal furniture and storage equipment for use in static environments (factories, maintenance bays and workshops) and increasingly in mobile environments (commercial service fleets, special use vehicles and container conversions). Headquartered in Bude, Cornwall, at the turn of the millennium, Bott set its sights on increasing profitability and reaching a £20 million turnover goal. It strategically chose to focus heavily on growing it’s vehicle conversion activities, and maintain turnover by improving response times in it’s traditional business. Above all this meant re-organising and enhancing manufacturing resources at the main production site in Bude, and expanding the company’s vehicle conversion capability. Turnover in vehicle conversions has grown from £5 million in 2003 to over £11 million now, while business in the traditional markets has continued to grow steadily. Overall the company increased its turnover by nearly 40 per cent in 2005.
