Jones & Shipman offers Doimak range

  • Jones & Shipman offers Doimak range
Jones & Shipman is now the exclusive distributor in the UK, Ireland, France, Switzerland and Belgium, for Doimak CNC-controlled cylindrical grinding machines.

The range of Spanish-built medium to heavy machines is capable of producing ballscrews and nuts, threads, gears, and also supports hob sharpening..

Providing the capacity to handle work pieces up to 1,000 mm in diameter, 6 m in length and weighing up to 4,000 kgs, the Doimak cylindrical grinding machines complement the existing J&S product range, delivering extra capacity to enable the company to expand the number of industries that it can service and support with its precision grinding machines.

"The Doimak machines provide excellent strategic fit with the J&S range of cylindrical grinding machines," said Mike Duignan, managing director of Jones and Shipman. "They enable us to offer our customers greater capacity from a wider machine range, plus the usual J&S cost and communication benefits of a total source solution from a single source supply."

"The addition of the Doimak range is another step forward in the strategy of Jones & Shipman to provide total grinding solutions, over a wide range of capacities," he added."The proprietary machines manufactured by J&S specialise in the smaller end of the market, handling precision components typically up to 1 m in length and up to 450 kg in weight. The Doimak machines extend this capacity into medium and large components."

Fitted with Siemens 840-D, the machines are typically sold into the aerospace, automotive and sub-contract engineering sectors around the globe, a market space where J&S has a tremendous amount of experience.

Jones & Shipman will be offering a range of seven Doimak RCN cylindrical grinding machines, alongside ballscrew and nut grinders, thread grinders and gear grinders.

• Jones & Shipman is part of PTG, together with its sister companies Holroyd, Heavy Industries and Precision Components.
