Machine tools will also be present on the stand at Southern Manufacturing, including the compact Hurco VM5i machining centre, which has a working volume of 457 by 356 by 356 mm. Capable of fitting into a space less than 2 m wide and able to enter a doorway just 2 m high, the machine will be performing steel cutting demonstrations throughout show.
Sharing equal prominence on the stand will be a Hurco TM10i 2-axis CNC lathe, which turns parts up to 450 mm in diameter, 720 mm in length, and is well suited to bar work up to 77 mm diameter. Performance is complemented by the Max5 control, where easy-to-follow graphics guide the user through all operations and tooling options. Newly developed XP model enhancements mean that concurrent programming, improved graphics and roller guideways are now standard features. The slant-bed lathe is supplied with a 10” hydraulic three-jaw chuck, parts catcher, swarf conveyor, £500 worth of Dormer Pramet tooling, and vouchers for MacInnes coolant and lubricants.
