Fuchs Lubricants has been presented with its third consecutive SC21 silver award from aerospace trade association ADS. The Stoke-based firm is the only lubricants company to have achieved this honour.

SC21 is a development programme designed to accelerate the competitiveness of the aerospace and defence industry by raising the performance of its supply chains.

Companies signed up to the SC21 programme have a chance to enter awards. Organisations achieving and maintaining agreed criteria in terms of delivery, quality, sustainable improvement and the associated improvement frameworks receive recognition in the form of a bronze, silver or gold award.

To achieve the silver level, the company has demonstrated exceptional levels of delivery service, product quality and commitment to sustainable manufacturing.

Simeon Preston, UK Compliance Manager at Fuchs, said: “We have recently completed our second diagnostics cycle and our strategy can be aligned to further develop performance within the supply chain. The award highlights our commitment to our customers and the industry as a whole. The team at Fuchs has continued to work to, and develop, our sustainable manufacturing code and best working practices, which have been recognised by this award.”

Fuchs develops, manufactures and supplies a comprehensive range of lubricants, including metalworking fluids, wash fluids and corrosion protection lubricants from its 20-acre Hanley manufacturing site.

The company has recently invested in 2,110 solar panels across the site as well as a new state-of-the-art fire suppression system.
