Free grinding wheels from Krebs & Riedel

Krebs & Riedel, through their UK distributors Dorman Machine Tools, are offering UK end users of grinding machines free grinding wheels in order to test out their quality before committing to buy.

Alan Stevenson, sales manager at Dorman, explains: "The offer works like this. We will take enquiries and will offer customers, where possible, a solution from the wide range of Krebs wheels that are available. If the customer likes the price we have quoted we will then supply them with a free grinding wheel on a test/pay on results basis. If the wheel performs well then the customer will buy the wheel but if it is found not to bring the desired quality and cycle time the customer won't be invoiced for it."

One area where Krebs & Riedel excels in is the supply of special wheels for gear and thread grinding applications, with special wheels available for machines manufactured by Gleason-Pfauter, Oerlikon, Kapp-Niles, Hofler, Maag, Samputensili and Reishauer.

Another of Krebs & Riedel's specialities is wheels for the grinding of camshafts and crankshafts. Krebs has developed large diameter tri-zone CBN wheels that generate perfect geometry with very fine finishes on crankshaft journals.

Diamond and CBN wheels are also available from 3 mm to over 900 mm in diameter, with peripheral grinding speeds of up to 160 m/s.

The major grinding disciplines that Krebs offer wheels for, include: cylindrical grinding, surface grinding, creep feed grinding, special profile grinding, gear grinding, centerless grinding, and the non-round grinding of cam forms etc.
