Filtermist to show how it helps workers to ‘Go Home Healthy’

Filtermist International will be highlighting the role it plays in helping to ensure British workers ‘Go Home Healthy’ on stand C250 at Southern Manufacturing 2019 (5-7 February, Farnborough).

According to the HSE’s latest statistics, an estimated 12,000 cases of lung disease deaths are linked to previous exposure in the workplace. Reducing this figure is one of HSE’s current key priorities and it is implementing a number of measures designed to tackle this issue in its ‘Go Home Healthy’ campaign.

Filtermist, which will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2019, offers a range of products and services designed to minimise exposure to oil mist and other airborne contaminants, as UK sales manager Matthew Pearson explains: “Filtermist is known throughout the industry for its compact oil mist filters, but manufacture and installation is only part of what we do. As with all machinery, oil mist, dust and fume filters perform best with regular servicing. Filtermist operates a dedicated team of skilled service engineers throughout the UK to offer customers assurance that their equipment is in good working order.”

Investing in, and then maintaining, effective extraction equipment is vital, not just from a best-practice perspective, but also a legal one. CoSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations require most LEV (local exhaust ventilation) systems to be tested at least once every 14 months by a competent person.

“Filtermist has a team of skilled LEV engineers certified to P601, P602, P603 and P604,” continues Pearson. “We use a digital reporting system which makes it easy to file and then retrieve LEV test reports when required. One of our LEV engineers will be performing LEV tests on the stand at Southern Manufacturing, so come along to see him in action.”
