Citizen increases personnel on back of progressive growth

Following progressive growth since 2009, together with the successful integration and development of the Miyano fixed-head turn-mill centres into the portfolio, Watford, Herts-headquartered Citizen Machinery UK has recruited five engineers to build its customer support operations throughout the UK.

"The two product ranges of Citizen CNC sliding-head and Miyano fixed-head turning centres are now fully integrated into our operations in the UK, with the resulting transfer of technology between the two machine builders helping to significantly boost sales. So, as a result, we have expanded our team to 34 people," explains Geoff Bryant, Citizen UK's managing director.

Two new application engineers have been appointed – Warren Garratt will now support the Midlands and North, while Matt Frankham will cover the Midlands and South West.

Three service engineers have joined, with Philip Gajic covering the Midlands; Carl Mustchin the South East; with Simon Dyer, based at the Watford headquarters, having responsibility to assist in the expansion of the pre-owned machine tool operation.

Adds Mr Bryant: "Each of these new appointments has been trained for both Citizen and Miyano machine applications. This is especially important, as a growing number of customers have both product ranges installed and will therefore provide a single point of contact."
