Chiron makes its presence felt at Paris Air Show

  • Chiron makes its presence felt at Paris Air Show
German machine tool maker Chiron (Chiron Werke UK) claims to have been the company demonstrating its metalcutting innovations live at the recent Paris Air Show.

Chiron's first trade show appearance at the Paris Air Show was "a brilliant premiere", said sales director Gerhard Böhm. The company milled a hinge, like those used on aircraft for attaching loading flaps, completing it on the one machine. "Customers were impressed with how quickly and precisely our Mill 800 can mill", Mr Böhm added.

The introduced MPS 15, a Chiron machining centre for complete machining of profiles up to 11 m, was also reportedly well received.

Compared to typical sector solutions, the models from Chiron are claimed to be considerably more effective on price-to-performance ratio measures and particularly on cost per part. The latter has seen Chiron achieve success in the automotive sector, but now the company is bringing the same benefits to the aerospace sector, the company underlines.

In addition, the machines' compact footprint, energy efficiency and the ability to deliver turnkey solutions were additional strengths highlighted.
