Bystronic summer showcase is no washout
Bystronic's July Open House – Summer Showcase – saw 75 visitors drawn to the three-day event and an immediate sale for the company's recently introduced ByJet Smart waterjet profiling machine.
Visitors saw Bystronic's latest 3 kW fibre laser, along with the latest 6 kW CO2 high speed laser, at the company's Coventry facility.
In addition to the laser cutting machines, visitors also saw Bystronic's new concept in waterjet cutting, the ByJet Smart, a full range of press brakes, along with rolls and deburring machinery. The company's Bysoft 7 software was also showcased.
David Larcombe, Bystronic UK's managing director, commented: "I was concerned that we would not have the visitors we normally see, due to the holiday period. We are extremely appreciative of all the visitors that found the time to attend the event, it was very well attended and amongst a number of firm enquiries the event immediately lead to the sale of our fourth ByJet Smart Waterjet cutting machine".
The ByJet Smart was only launched in the UK four months ago and the take up and interest in this value for money compact machine has been very encouraging, says the company. Low purchase price and reduce running costs are its two key features.
However, the machine is equipped with numerous high-end components, amongst them the innovative cutting bridge fitted with a linear motor. Other examples are said to be the excellent cutting head with reliable height sensing and the precision-manufactured machine frame.
High-end materials such as the heavily damping composite material, which is used for the machine frame, as well as the intelligent material combination for the torsion-resistant cutting bridge, underline the Swiss company's focus on quality, it is offered.
And the ByJet Smart can be upgraded with additional productivity-improving components.
The next Bystronic UK event is set for September 18, 19 and 20 and will follow the theme 'Money Matters' - ways to improve up-time and reduce costs in all aspects of sheet metal work and plate working. The days will consist of demonstrations and presentations covering automating laser cutting, programming tips, operation and maintenance, press brake up-time optimisation and a practical demonstration of waterjet v laser as choices of manufacturing processes. A presentation will be made by an external industry expert and a hot lunch will be provided.
