BSA Machine Tools, Birmingham has received a three-lathe order from Wuhan in China worth in excess of $1 million.

This following other domestic orders in recent months gives the company a substantial order book, reports managing director Stephen Brittan The Chinese customer is a manufacturer of mining equipment, and the lathes are special versions of standard CNC lathes. One will be based on the Matrix Four Series and will be manufactured complete at BSA Machine Tools’ Mackadown Lane site prior to export. The other two, Viper CNC lathes, will be produced in partnership with the UK lathe builder’s Chinese co-production partner.
