TDT Technology has appointed Tim Stell (pictured) as area sales manager.

He says: “The opportunity to take up a position with TDT Technology was appealing as the company represents many leading machine tool brands – Kafo, Fidia, Feeler, Pama, IMT, OMG and Proth – and is currently enjoying strong growth in the UK.

“All of these milling, turning and grinding machines are well built, well specified and competitively priced. As a result, I feel that I have the experience and contacts to further improve the company’s market share across a host of different industries.”

Apprentice-trained, Stell has a HND in Mechanical & Production Engineering from Halifax College, and carries a NEBOSH Health & Safety General Certificate. Having started his career in 1980 as a technical services engineer at Butler Machine Tools, Stell became sales manager at the renamed Asquith Butler in 1994. He left the company in 1997 to join TW Ward CNC Machinery, first as UK sales manager, then engineering manager. After more than 13 successful years, he re-joined Asquith Butler in 2010 as business development manager.

Adds TDT MD Simon Hewson: “We would like to welcome Tim to our management team and look forward to leveraging his impressive engineering and sales experience. We have a strong track record of hiring the best people here at TDT and Tim is no exception. He has qualities that will prove key as we continue to expand our presence, and that of our principals, across the UK. I am certain that Tim can help us build on our increasingly strong market position.”
