Amada Machine Tools investing and restructuring

  • Amada Machine Tools investing and restructuring
Amada Machine Tools, the machine tool manufacturer, is investing heavily in Europe, and restructuring its business, with all machines manufactured by companies owned by Amada being rebranded 'AMADA'.

This includes Tecno Wasino, the grinding machine and lathe manufacturer, that has been part of the Amada group for over 30 years. As a result of the restructuring, all their grinders and lathes have been renamed – AMADA.

Amada's plans are centered around their European headquarters in Haan near Düsseldorf, Germany.

Technical solution centres are being built for the grinding and lathe divisions in Haan, on the same industrial park as the new Sheet Metal Machine Centre, and there will also be a new showroom to demonstrate the Amada machines.

The total investment will amount to approx 40 million Euros, with completion in the spring of 2010.

The company will handle all European sales and service activities from the Haan centre, where customers will have the opportunity to see demonstrations, arrange cutting trials and use the technical departments, to find the best solution for their application.

The Amada Machine Tools Europe company structure is headed by Shinnichi Ogawa CEO, with Ben Scherr, managing director for the grinding and lathe divisions, and Konrad Roggenbuck, managing director for the bandsaw division.
