Hexagon Metrology Automotive PowerTrain Forum

Hexagon Metrology will hold a forum on the use of advanced inspection systems and software within the Automotive PowerTrain industry on 22 and 23 February, starting at 9:30 am, at its Telford, Shropshire HQ.

Demonstrations on the day will include:

• Inspection & Wear measurement of Piston, Piston rings, Block and Camshaft – a claimed unique function of Hexagon Metrology's Quindos 7 software

• Valve seat measurement on cylinder heads

• High speed scanning on front face (Head & Block)

• Cylindrical gear and spiral bevel gear inspection

• Camshaft, Crankshaft & Conrod inspection

"UK vehicle and engine production continues to lead a manufacturing recovery," says Paul Everitt, Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) Chief Executive. "UK car production increased 8.5% in November and there was also growth in engine and commercial vehicle output. Despite the challenges in the Euro-zone, the UK motor industry expects further growth in 2012".
