Doosan Infracore shows 58 new machine tools 12/06/2007

Korean machine tool maker Doosan Infracore unveiled 58 new machine tools at the recently-held Doosan International Machine Tool Fair (DIMF) in Korea.

Doosan Infracore, part of the Doosan Group of companies, has reported that its 6th DIMF Show held in May 2007 at the company’s state-of-the-art facility in Changwon City, Kyungnam Province, Korea was an "unparalleled success".

With more new machine tool models on show than at previous DIMF Shows (58 in total) and the number of visitors attending the show up by 12 per cent (2,800 attendees) – this year’s DIMF event has again demonstrated the strength and determination of Doosan Infracore to maintain (and grow) its position as one of the world’s top 5 leading machine tool manufacturers, says the company.

Doosan Infracore has machine tool manufacturing facilities in Korea and China each with production capabilities (1,090 units per month/Korea; 80 units per month/China). Overseas subsidiary operations in Germany and the USA – plus an extensive worldwide sales network and infrastructure have all contributed to machine tools sales growth of 22 per cent (year-on-year) from 2001-2006. The company is predicting sales growth of 25 per cent for 2007.

"This year’s DIMF Show certainly whetted the appetite of the hundreds of customers and dealers that attended the event," says Mike Jenkins, managing director at Mills Manufacturing Technology – Doosan Infracore’s exclusive machine tool dealer in UK/Ireland.

"Not only was there opportunity to get up close and personal to the new Doosan turning centres and machining centres that will soon be available to our customers here in the UK and Ireland – we were also able to appreciate, first-hand, the new sophisticated design and colour schemes that now characterise Doosan machines and which reflect Doosan Infracore’s status as one of the world’s Top 5 manufacturers of advanced, high-performance machine tools."
