A new, specialist, brochure for its range of taps specifically for the aerospace sector is is available from WNT (UK).
This new brochure details the entire range of thread forms and tap types to solve thread cutting problems in this particular branch of manufacturing.
‘Tapping in aerospace applications is an area that is often seen as niche, but is a vital element of the manufacturing process. It is in recognition of this fact that we have developed this comprehensive range of tapping solutions and brought them all together into a single brochure to further improve service,” says Tony Pennington, WNT (UK)’s managing director. “Given the specialist thread forms and often difficult to machine materials found in the aerospace sector we identified a need to focus on the tapping requirements of manufacturing companies producing components across the aerospace spectrum.”
The brochure includes details of taps suitable for a range of materials, including Inconel, Titanium and other heat resistant alloys. For example, WNT’s type B AZ Ti range of HSS powdersteel taps are designed to generate an interrupted cut, making them ideal for materials that have a tendency to ‘clamp’ or close up after machining.
In addition to supplying taps for specific aerospace materials groups WNT has also ensured that a full range of thread types are available on an ex-stock basis. These include MJ, and wire insert thread forms as well as the more familiar metric fine and course, UNF and UNC thread forms.
As with the 45,000 products in WNT’s standard catalogue the items in the Aerospace threading brochure are available for guaranteed sameday despatch for all orders placed before 6:30 pm. Customers can also call on WNT (UK)’s team of technical sales engineers for advice on specific application issues.
Copies of the Aerospace tapping brochure are available by calling 0800 073 2073.
