vertical machining centres, Fadal VMCs The Fadal VMC2216X, VMC3016FX and VMC4020FX vertical machining centres offer 4-axis machining plus a host of additional extras to deliver high productivity performance.

FX machines are available with a host of additional extras including the option of Fanuc 0i or Fanuc 18i control system, and the machines feature beta i drive motors for high torque and acceleration performance plus Steinmeyer ETA ball screws that reduce heat friction by up to 70 per cent compared to competitor machines.

The smallest of the new range, the VMC2216FX has x and y-axis travel of 558 and 406 mm, respectively, and like the other machines in the range it is equipped with an 21-tool ATC, 10-8,000 rpm spindle and and a 40 taper spindle as standard.

The two larger machines are the Fadal VMC3016FX and the VMC4020FX which have x and y-axis travels of an 762 by 406 mm and 1,016 by 508 mm, respectively. All machines share 508 mm vertical capacity with 708 mm as an option.

Options for all machines include 30-tool ATC, 10,000 rpm high torque spindle or 15,000 rpm high speed spindle and 250 PSI through-spindle coolant.

The FX range has a positional accuracy of +/- 0.005 mm and axis repeatability of +/- 0.0025 mm as standard, while Heidenhain glass scales are available. The range is also available with the Renishaw TS-27R tool setter probe and OMP40 probe systems.
