Seiki Systems of Brighton closed 2006 with a new business growth of 33 per cent in UK sales of its manufacturing software – more than doubling the increase in orders for 2005.
In addition, export sales of its software, mainly to North America almost doubled during the year which has led to some substantial installations in the aerospace and defence sectors.
“We have been tracking sources of new customers and have been amazed that almost 20 per cent of new business in the UK originated from enquiries taken at MACH 2006 in Birmingham during May,” said general manager David Trowell. “On reflection, it is the best exhibition we have ever attended."
At the MACH 2006 show Seiki Systems was demonstrating the automatic collation of probing data in real time from a CNC machine, in conjunction with strategic partners Renishaw on probing systems and GS Productivity Solutions with GibbsCAM, the off-line programming and control of probing sequences. Through Seiki Systems, the information could be used in statistical process control systems, to trigger alerts and for automatic creation of off-line inspection reports (click here for related Machinery feature).
“This totally new software integration development, that was demonstrated across the three companies’ individual stands, truly opened doors for future business and also sparked interest in our Networked Manufacturing System and Graphical Real Time Scheduler software,” Mr Trowell added.
“We have a number of very interesting projects that will realise some very good savings for customers from being able to utilise ‘real time’ information,” he concluded.
