Medical open house delivers £1/2 million in orders 27/10/2006

5-axis machining Agie Charmilles took machine tool orders to the value of in excess of £500,000 during its recent medical technology open house.

Over 90 visitors from 55 companies attended the event and in addition to the sales a significant number of new machine tool quotations were also prepared and sent to customers attending the event.

"We got the balance right between formal presentations and practical machining demonstrations," said Martin Spencer, general manager – customer sales & service at Agie Charmilles Ltd. "Visitors were able to get an overview of where the medical industry is going over the next few years – and the opportunities that exist for precision manufacturers within the sector. This was then backed up by them seeing relevant machine tool demos – that showed how our technology is being used to manufacture high value, high precision parts."
