The end of big CADCAM? 06/10/2006

Each year, market analyst CIMdata publishes a review of the CAM market in its NC Software and Related Services Market Assessment. The 2005 report showed that, in the 10 years up to 2004, the three major suppliers of high-end, CAD-integrated CAM systems, Dassault, UGS and PTC, saw their combined market share fall from almost half of the total to less than one third. In contrast, many CAM-focused suppliers saw their market share increase, in particular Delcam, which is now firmly established as the world’s leading specialist supplier of NC software and services.
