Taking the racing line 25/09/2006

The British public’s endless thirst for motor racing appears unquenchable. Silverstone regularly attracts crowds in excess of 100,000 for the Formula One British Grand Prix, while a similar number recently attended the Brands Hatch leg of the 2006 World Superbike series.

But motorsport is more than F1 and WSBK. There is also Champ, Indy, stock, GT and touring car racing. Add drag racing, hot-rods, rally, truck racing, powerboats, endless variants of motorcycle racing and karting into the mix, and it soon becomes clear that this is a sizeable and significant manufacturing sector.
