Libero CMM is first of new product line for Metris May 2006

Libero has two distinct design features that give it much greater stiffness. In raising the x-axis guideway, the drive has been positioned much closer to the centre of gravity, and there's an s-axis scale to compensate dynamically for x-axis errors.

Initial testing shows that the capability index has been doubled for a Libero on the shopfloor versus a metrology lab machine located in a temperature-controlled and clean environment.

The machine is primarily aimed at the analogue scanning market.

There are three sizes and three variants, all are fitted with temperature compensation and pneumatic AVM as standard. Libero+ is designed for lab use, but Libero and Libero Therma are for shopfloor use. The Therma has an operating temperature range of 15 to 30 degrees C.
