Toolholding standard 02/12/2005

Sandvik Coromant has applied for its Coromant Capto toolholding system to be the basis of an ISO standard.

Coromant Capto has been on the market for some 15 years and has gained broad acceptance and a strong position in the area of quick-change tooling systems and modular tools, as well as machine tool spindle and turret interface.

At the present moment there are five external manufacturers producing Coromant Capto on licenses. “To safeguard the level of quality required producing a Coromant Capto coupling according to our specifications, furthermore to make sure of the future compatibility of the system, we have applied for an ISO standard,” said Kenneth Sundberg, vice president product management, Sandvik Coromant.
