Zeiss targets UK aerospace 16/01/2004
 
Zeiss’s new Technology Centre at its Industrial Metrology Division in Rugby underpins the company’s aerospace ambitions. Dr Rainer clearly believes the UK to be a centre for the aerospace industry and that is unquestionably where Zeiss sees future growth. At present the sector accounts for 11 per cent of the company’s turnover globally, but the plan is to “boost this figure significantly”. Currently the automotive industry and its suppliers are Zeiss’s ‘bread and butter’, collectively accounting for nearly 60 per cent of revenue. This won’t change much, but it never hurts to diversify a little
