Design and development engineers at press brake manufacturers have, it seems, been on a continuous mission to ‘out do’ their previous generation models. The new third generation of TrumaBend V Series press brakes from Trumpf, for example, are claimed to reduce cycle times by up to 30 per cent (thanks largely to up- and downstroke speeds of 220 mm/sec) and improve accuracy by a factor of 2:1 over the previous model range
