The Micro Manufacturing Technology Seminar will be a full two-day conference this year.
Held at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, 20-21 October, the finalised conference programme features influential and knowledgeable experts, and is a free-to-attend event.
The conference will begin both days with a keynote address from two of the world-leading research institutes in micro technologies. The first day will feature a keynote presentation from Dr Alex Domman, vice president and program manager for MEMS, from CSEM — the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology. The second day will begin with a keynote address from Philipp Imgrund, department head at the Fraunhofer Institut, Biomaterials Technology, IFAM.
Following the keynotes, speakers include: Donna Bibber, Micro Engineering Solutions; Loren Evers, Medtronic; Andy Whitaker, TWI Ltd; Arthur Turner, Rainford Precision Machines; Jonathon Montgomery, SmalTec Inc.; Nadeem Rizvi, Laser Micro Machining; Gideon Foster-Turner, OpTek; Hans-Henk Wolter, ECM Technologies BV; Ira Feldman, Microfabrica; Katrin Theiler, IVAM; and Brent Hahn, Accumold.
The conference programme has been devised to address the key issues of micro manufacturing, taking in a state-of-the-industry overview to in-depth discussions on micro moulding, micro machining, micro EDM, electrochemical machinery, metrology and assembly.
The concluding afternoon session on Day 2 will feature a two-hour micro metrology workshop. Held in partnership with CEMMNT, the Loughborough-based Centre of Excellence in Metrology for Micro and Nano Technologies, this session will include a range of objective and informative case studies. Live demonstrations of the technologies available will also be shown.
