Modular component cleaning system
June 2009 Email to a friend

The Crystal CRX range from Finnsonic (Turbex) is a modular build industrial component cleaning machines that allows users to order systems that exactly suit their needs for the same price as a standard system.

Modular component cleaning systemThe systems are predominantly made from stainless steel and can be configured as single or multiple tanks, in manual or automatic operation. The cost is typically 20 per cent less than an equivalent bespoke system.

Tank size is normally based on the most popular Euro basket dimensions, 400 by 300 mm or 600 by 400 mm, although many larger sizes are available.

Tanks can be added to an existing cleaning line and additional features retrofitted. No reprogramming is necessary, as any extension to a system can be accommodated within the existing PLC (programmable logic controller).

Among the available extras are jet turbulation, various basket movement options, spray rinsing, air bubble agitation during immersion rinsing, and hot air drying. Closed-loop filtration and oil removal are available to extend the life of the washing and rinsing consumables and improve component cleanliness.

Another option is FinnSonic MultiWave, a recent innovation that allows different ultrasonic frequencies, power levels and durations to be programmed throughout a wash cycle. Low frequency vibrations help to remove heavy soils from components, while higher frequencies act closer to the component surface for more precise cleaning in difficult-to-reach areas.

A touch-screen graphical user interface makes it easy to control the various modules and options of a Crystal CRX machine. A virtually limitless number of washing cycles can be generated for optimal removal of oil, grease and particulates from any type of component. Programs are stored for reuse, either in the control's memory or using a tag in the basket of components to be washed.
