Typhoon heavy duty slant bed and mill-turn CNC lathes November 2008

The Typhoon range is designed to meet demand for a heavy duty milling and turning solution that offers quality, accuracy and speed at f a competitive price.

The first two models; the 310M, which features turning and milling with C axis, and the 310MY, which also features an additional Y axis, are equipped with a 12 station hydraulic turret and weigh 5,600 kg and 6,000 kg respectively.

The single piece Meehanite cast iron bed is heavily ribbed to offer maximum rigidity and the headstock features a unique advanced circular rib construction to ensure utmost rigidity and thermal stability. This robust design helps to ensure dynamic and thermal stability, thus leading to extremely high metal removal rates and excellent surface finish, as well as helping to increase tool life.

Both machines feature the latest state-of-the-art Fanuc Oi-TC controls together with a 10.4 inch colour screen and Manual Guide I conversational programming software. This powerful software means that they are quick and easy to program for even the most complex of components. As no ISO programming knowledge is required, they can be used with only the minimum of training.
